Agricultural machines, inflation increases the value of Italian production

In 2023, the Italian production of machinery and components for agriculture and landscaping reaches its maximum in terms of value, rising to 16.4 billion euros as the sum of the individual product sectors. The value of tractors stands at 2.7 billion (+13% on 2022) at a rate of 51 thousand units produced (-6.6%), equipment and operating machines reach 7.4 billion (+5.4 %), the production of incomplete tractors and tractor parts generates a value of 1.4 billion euros (+7.7%). Turnover was also growing for the components segment (+5.2%, amounting to 4 billion euros), while that of gardening machinery and equipment - the only negative one - recorded a decrease of 5.3%, in amounting to 900 million euros. The growth in turnover, as explained by the president of FederUnacoma Maria Teresa Maschio, on the occasion of the general assembly of the Federation which was held on 25 June in Zola Predosa (Bologna), derives from an increase in list prices, due to inflation and to the increase in the price of raw materials, and does not correspond to an increase in the quantities produced.
