The Australian tractor market breaks another record

09.02.2023
For the second consecutive year, the Australian tractor market registers a positive balance sheet. In 2022 - reports the TMA, the association that represents agricultural machinery manufacturers in Australia - 19,000 tractors were sold (+3% compared to 2021), for a value of 2.3 billion dollars, reaching record volumes since the 1980s. The most substantial increase in sales was recorded in the low-power segment, under 40 HP (30 kW), with an increase of 12%. Also the combine harvester sector closes positively with 1,145 units sold (+6% compared to 2021). According to the Australian association, last year’s positive phase of the is mainly due to the increase in agricultural yields, and to the Governments Temporary Full Expensing program, aimed at supporting the purchase of new and more sustainable agricultural vehicles. The market should remain dynamic also in 2023, reports TMS, despite the end of the public incentive program (it will close next June) and the persistent problems in the supply chain which could lead to a postponement of orders.
