Increases in raw materials, credit crunch and a slowdown in the incentive system are slowing down the Italian tractor market in the first eight months of the year. Between January and August 2023, the number of registered vehicles fell by 10% compared to the same period last year, reaching just over 12,700 vehicles. The Italian decline is part of a European context characterized by a modest contraction in volumes which indicates substantial stability in the sector, especially when compared to the record volumes achieved in 2022. Data, processed by FederUnacoma on the basis of registrations from the Ministry of Transport, were presented by the president of the manufacturers, Mariateresa Maschio, during the press conference to present Agrilevante held on 4 October. The trend in sales in Italy between January and August – explained Mariateresa Maschio, during the press conference – was influenced, in particular, by the slowdown in the system of public incentives which in the past two years had a driving force on the purchases of innovative agricultural machinery. State benefits are in fact recording a slowdown due to delays linked above all to the application of the PNRR and the Innovation Fund launched by the Government.
