Agricultural machinery, Italian exports growing in 2023

The export of Italian tractors and agricultural machinery closes 2023 on a positive note. According to data processed by ISTAT – the Italian National Institute of Statistics - exports of vehicles exceeded 7.2 billion euros, with an increase of 12% compared to the previous year (6.4 billion). The France confirms itself as main importer of Italian technologies is confirmed, with over 1 billion euros (+23.2% on 2022) and with a share of approximately 14% on the total of Italian exports. Behind the transalpine country are the United States, with over 878 million, which are down 1.8% compared to the previous year, and Germany which instead purchased agricultural machinery for over 760 million euros (+14.4%). For the current year, market operators expect a contraction in demand for agricultural machinery, due to the still high cost of raw materials and the continuing international tensions that put supply chains at risk.
